Get Out & Play, Ice Skating (Fall 2020)
November 13 @ 12:45 pm - 3:15 pm$50 – $125
Whether your child is skating for the first time, or has skated multiple times, this is a great introductory program to many different aspects of skating. We coordinate our sessions with the Figure Skating Club of Park City, the Park City Ice Miners hockey team, and Park City Speed Skating. The first week will focus on the basic concepts of being on skates with different stations teaching specific skill sets, playing games and allowing for “free skate” time. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th weeks will focus on figure skating, hockey and speed skating, each being spotlighted 1 of the 3 weeks.
There will always be something different to challenge the kids, regardless of ability (with the exception of the highly skilled skater.) Keep in mind that the program is also focusing on “Fun On Ice” to get kids out there, skating and having a good time with their friends. This program is not intended to be a supplement to strict club training.
Transportation is provided from the schools to the ice arena and back, but we do need a coordinator for each school. School coordinators receive a significant discount on the program fees, so please contact [email protected] if you're able to help. In addition, we need bus chaperones to supervise the kids while they ride to/from the venue and also assist with tying/untying skate laces. If you're able to help as a bus chaperone, please CLICK HERE to volunteer!
