GET OUT & PLAY
YSA’s Get Out & Play collaborates with Park City School District elementary schools, Weilenmann School of Discovery, Park City Day School and the local homeschool community along with Deer Valley, Park City Mountain Resort, Park City Ice Arena, Utah Olympic Park, White Pine Touring, Young Riders, the Mine Bouldering Gym to offer affordable programs that give every child the opportunity to try new sports in a safe supervised environment. More than 100 parent volunteers help kids ‘gear up’ at the schools, chaperone on the buses, and provide extra supervision on the mountain or trail during lessons.
Elementary students in 1st through 5th grades can try downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, freestyle skiing, freeride, ski jumping, bouldering, mountain biking, figure skating, speed skating and ice hockey on early release Fridays. Program fees include instruction, transportation from schools to participating venues (except for mountain biking and bouldering) and lift tickets where applicable. Students with financial need are offered fee waivers less a small commitment fee and are provided equipment for use during the program.
